Decolonial love as a pedagogy of care for Black immigrant post-secondary students

This paper explores ‘decolonial love’ as a pedagogy of care among 16 first generation Black immigrants enrolled in predominantly White four- year colleges the United States and Canada. The term extensions this original conceptualization focus on radical self-love resistance to colonial oppression. Scholars have also connected decolonial love with liberation movements. Through narrative analysis immigrant student experiences university, article uses intersectional approach explore how higher educational institutions can embrace praxis. affirms supports identities climate anti-Black racism. will discuss implications for educators whose aim it is decolonize their teaching practices.
